Colorful Garden Romance: behind the scenes of our styled wedding shoot at Domaine Jolibois, in the Alpilles

A sunny, colorful wedding, far from all-white: the idea behind our styled shoot at Domaine Jolibois, the palette, how we shared the day between photo and video, and the team that made it happen.

In short
  • A styled shoot designed like a real wedding: a full day, a real ceremony, real guests.
  • The idea: dare color (peach, lilac, soft yellow, light blue) while staying elegant.
  • Photo and video as a duo, with around twenty vendors and extras.

On November 1, 2025, we gathered a wonderful team at Domaine Jolibois, in Eyguières, at the foot of the Alpilles. Not for a real wedding, but for a styled shoot: a staged wedding designed to give couples ideas and show each vendor's work. If you're wondering exactly what that is, I explain it in my article on styled shoots and the trap of perfect photos.

The idea: a sunny wedding, far from all-white

We wanted to step away from the usual white and neutral codes. To dare color and spontaneity without losing elegance. To show that a wedding can be joyful, lively and unique. We called this world "Colorful Garden Romance": a chic, luminous Provence, between editorial and sincere.

The palette and textures

  • Colors: peach, lilac, soft yellow and light blue, with touches of orange and sage green. Present without taking over.
  • Textures: linen, fresh flowers, handmade tableware, textured fabrics, fruit, ribbons and delicate stationery.
  • Light: natural and golden, the late-afternoon light, for the couple portraits.
My advice

If you love color, choose two main colors and one or two accents. That's what keeps everything elegant, on the table as in the photos.

A venue with several moods

Domaine Jolibois gave us several settings in one place: an outdoor ceremony in the heart of the garden, a long colorful table under the trees, and a more intimate spot for the couple portraits at sunset. It's what I always look for when scouting a venue: where the light will be, at what time, and where we can slip away for a few minutes with the couple.

Planning a wedding in the area? I also talk about the region on my page wedding photographer in the Luberon and the Alpilles.

Photo and video as a duo

As on some of my weddings, I photographed while Thomas filmed. Charles Stephan joined as second videographer. Working as a team takes organization: we know where everyone stands so we never step into each other's frame. At our weddings, Thomas and I even carry walkie-talkies on vibrate, with our little codes, so we can coordinate without a word. That's the whole point of a photo and video duo: one shared vision, and a team that knows each other by heart.

Designed like a real wedding

A styled shoot often comes down to the bride or the couple, a couple session and a few group photos. I wanted something else. I organized this shoot with Mathilde, from Domaine Jolibois: together we chose the vendors, and I created the timeline of a full day, just like a real wedding. Getting ready, an outdoor ceremony with an officiant and real guests, a petal exit, the cocktail hour, couple portraits, dinner and the party: we tried to stick to the schedule from start to finish.

What I wanted from this day: to create images of an off-season wedding, at the start of winter; to meet new vendors and work again with others, so I can recommend high-quality professionals to you; and to bring to life what's been on my mind, while staying true to the photos you can really receive on your wedding day.

The team

A huge thank you to everyone for their participation and professionalism.

Frequently asked questions

Was it a real wedding?

No, it was a styled shoot. But it was organized like a real wedding day, with a timeline, an outdoor ceremony and real guests.

Where is Domaine Jolibois?

In Eyguières, in the Bouches-du-Rhône, at the foot of the Alpilles in Provence.

Do you offer photo and video for a wedding in the Alpilles?

Yes, at some weddings I work as a duo with Thomas: I photograph, he films, and I edit the film.

Can a wedding be colorful and elegant?

Yes. The secret is to choose two main colors and a few accents, and repeat them in the flowers, stationery and table.
